Using ZeroChat

Terms of Service

The rules for using ZeroChat, including invite-only access, acceptable use, encrypted communications, safety controls, and account deletion.

Agreement

These Terms are an agreement between you and Vault Limited, the operator of ZeroChat. They govern your use of the ZeroChat mobile application, website, and related services. By creating an account or using ZeroChat, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

You must be legally able to enter this agreement and meet the minimum age for an online communication service where you live. If local law requires permission from a parent or guardian, you may use ZeroChat only with that permission.

Accounts and invitations

ZeroChat registration is invite-only. You must provide accurate registration information, choose a username you are permitted to use, and keep your password and recovery material confidential. You are responsible for activity under your account unless you promptly tell us it has been compromised.

Invitations are access credentials, not identity verification or an endorsement. Do not sell, publish, automate, reuse, or attempt to defeat an invitation’s expiry, username restriction, or use limit. We may revoke invitations that are leaked, abused, or associated with a security risk.

Do not impersonate another person, misrepresent an affiliation, create accounts for abuse, or access another person’s account. A deleted username may remain unavailable to prevent identity impersonation.

Acceptable use

You must not use ZeroChat to:

  • threaten, harass, stalk, exploit, deceive, or unlawfully discriminate against another person;
  • create, request, distribute, or facilitate child sexual abuse material or the sexual exploitation of any person;
  • promote terrorism, credible violence, self-harm exploitation, human trafficking, or other serious illegal activity;
  • share intimate content without consent, dox private information, or violate privacy, intellectual-property, or other rights;
  • send spam, scams, phishing, malware, unwanted bulk messages, or deceptive financial solicitations;
  • bypass blocks, safety controls, rate limits, access restrictions, security checks, or account enforcement;
  • probe, disrupt, overload, reverse engineer where prohibited, or gain unauthorized access to the service or another user’s device; or
  • use ZeroChat in a way that violates applicable law.

ZeroChat is not an emergency service. If someone may be in immediate danger, contact the local emergency services or another appropriate authority in your area.

Your content

You retain the rights you have in content you send. You are responsible for that content and must have the rights and permissions needed to share it.

You give ZeroChat a limited right to process encrypted content and basic delivery information only as needed to send, sync, protect, and support the service. This right ends when the data is no longer needed for those purposes, subject to the retention and deletion rules in our Privacy Policy.

End-to-end encryption does not prevent a recipient from saving, forwarding, or reporting content they can see. Think carefully before sending sensitive information.

Privacy and security

One-to-one messages are end-to-end encrypted, and calls are encrypted while they travel. Our Privacy Policy explains the limited account, device, delivery, provider, support, and safety-report information we use and how long we keep it.

Keep your app and operating system current. Do not share your password, recovery code, encryption keys, or full sign-in token. Contact us promptly if you believe your account or device is compromised. We may end a sign-in session, remove a device or notification registration, or revoke an invitation to contain a credible security risk.

Blocking, reports, and enforcement

You can block an account or submit a safety report from supported profile and message surfaces. Blocking quietly stops new direct delivery between the accounts. Reports include a category and may include your optional comment.

For a message report, message text is excluded by default. It is provided to moderation only when you explicitly choose to include that selected message. The rest of the conversation and attachments are not included.

We may investigate reports and other credible signals, preserve relevant safety records, remove or restrict access, revoke invitations or sessions, suspend accounts, or take other proportionate action. We may act without advance notice when necessary to protect people, the service, or evidence. Enforcement decisions do not require us to reveal a reporter’s identity or confidential security information.

Service availability and changes

We work to keep ZeroChat reliable, but the service may be interrupted by maintenance, networks, device limitations, provider failures, security events, or circumstances outside our control. Delivery and call connection are not guaranteed, and time-sensitive or emergency communications should use an appropriate alternative channel.

We may change, add, limit, or discontinue features to improve security, comply with law, or operate the service sustainably. If a change materially affects these Terms, we will post updated Terms and provide additional notice when appropriate.

Ending your use

You may stop using ZeroChat at any time. Signing out clears the current account’s local data from that device but does not delete the account or its optional encrypted backup.

To delete your account permanently, sign in and use Settings → Delete My Account, enter your current password, and confirm. Access ends when ZeroChat accepts the request. Remaining encrypted files and temporary service copies are then removed in the background. Content already received by someone else may remain on their device or encrypted backup.

We may suspend or end access when reasonably necessary for a Terms violation, safety risk, legal requirement, or threat to the service. Where appropriate and lawful, we may provide notice or a way to ask about the decision.

Responsibility and legal limits

ZeroChat is provided on an “as available” basis. To the extent permitted by law, we disclaim implied warranties that cannot reasonably apply to an evolving communication service, including uninterrupted availability or error-free operation. Nothing in these Terms limits rights or remedies that applicable consumer law does not allow us to limit.

To the extent permitted by law, Vault Limited and its service providers are not responsible for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive loss arising from service interruption, another user’s conduct, or content a participant saves or shares. Any limitation applies only to the extent lawful in your jurisdiction.

You are responsible for losses caused by your unlawful misuse of the service or violation of another person’s rights. We remain responsible where liability cannot lawfully be excluded.

General terms

If one provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to apply. A delay in enforcing a term is not a waiver. You may not transfer your account or these Terms without our permission. We may transfer service responsibilities as part of a lawful reorganization, provided your rights remain protected.
